The most common issue with ceiling fan installations is the ceiling box. Standard light fixture boxes aren't rated to support the weight and movement of a ceiling fan. If you mount a heavy fan on the wrong box, it can work loose over time, or worse, fall. We make sure every fan installation uses a proper fan-rated box, correctly anchored, before we hang anything.

New Install vs. Replacement, What's Different

Replacing an existing fan is usually straightforward, existing wiring and box are already there. Installing a fan where there's currently a light fixture requires verifying the box is fan-rated (and upgrading it if not) and checking the circuit capacity. Installing a fan where there's nothing at all requires running a new circuit, which is a bigger job. We'll assess your situation during the estimate and give you an accurate scope and price.

• Can I put a ceiling fan where I currently have a light fixture?

  In most cases yes, but we need to verify the ceiling box is fan-rated and the existing wiring is adequate. We'll check this as part of the install.

• Can I control the fan and light separately?

  Yes, this requires a separate switch or a remote/smart module. We can wire dual switches if your wall box has room, or install a receiver in the fan for remote operation.

• Do you supply the fans or do I need to purchase them?

  We typically install customer-supplied fans. Just make sure you have the fan and all components on-site before we arrive. We're happy to advise on brands or sizes if you're not sure what to get.
